Res. Asst. Hatice KARAKAŞ (with supervision by Prof. Beykan ÇİZEL) has been granted the TÜBİTAK 2214-A International Doctoral Research Scholarship Program to conduct her doctoral thesis titled "The Mediating Role of Ethno-Cultural Empathy in the Impact of Cultural Intelligence and Cultural Distance on Destination Image and Visiting Intention: The Case of Scandinavian Countries".


Res. Asst. Gürkan AYBEK is granted to be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2211-A PhD Scholarship Program.


The project titled "Analysis of the Effect of Technology Usage in Cultural Heritage Promotion on Tourists' Authentic Tourism Experience through Experimental Design; Case of Yörük Cultural Museum-222K103" led by Tourism Faculty Lecturer Prof. Beykan Çizel (PhD) is granted to be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002.

Country reports for EU-COSME "European Tourism SMEs Going Green 2030 (European Tourism Going Green 2030 – ETGG 2030)" project coordinated by The Centre for Sustainable Tourism (ZENAT) of the University of Eberswalde and 6 EU countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Italy and Romania) covers political environment, pioneering collaborations, certification and award programs, and current developments of SME businesses in the context of sustainable tourism in 21 European countries, including Türkiye have been prepared by Lecturer Dilek Hale SİPAHİ AYBAR and Res. Asst. Onur SELÇUK, under the supervision of Prof. Beykan ÇİZEL (PhD).

Project titled "COVID-19 and Society: Social, Human and Economic Impacts of the Pandemic, Problems and Solutions" has been granted within the scope of ARDEB 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Programme.

The master thesis of Tourism Management master student Demet CEYLAN (with the supervision of Prof. Beykan ÇİZEL) titled "Testing Destination Image Scale Invariance Among British, German, and Russian Tourists: A Multigroup Confirmatory Factor Analysis" has been presented and honored at the 10th World Conference for Graduate Research in Tourism, Hospitality, and Leisure with the Best Master's Thesis Award.

The PhD thesis titled “Analysis of Persuasive Communication Process on Online Hotel Review Platforms through Examination of Attitudes and Persuasive Cues” prepared by our Lecturer Edina AJANOVİÇ under the supervision of Dr. Beykan ÇİZEL has been presented at the 10th World Conference for Graduate Research in Tourism, Hospitality, and Leisure and honored with the Best Doctoral Thesis Award.


The PhD thesis titled “Analysis of the Reflections of Tourism Experiences on Photographs According to Tourist Gaze Typologies” prepared by our Res. Ass. Remziye EKİCİ under the supervision of Dr. Beykan ÇİZEL has been presented at the 9th Graduate Tourism Students Research Congress and honored with the Best Doctoral Thesis Award.


On October 2018, the research study titled “Evaluating Academic Motivation, Expectation, and Perception of Tourism Bachelor Degree Students Within the Scope of Turkey and Poland Education in Terms of Sustainability in Education” prepared by Asst. Prof. Alpaslan KASALAK (PhD), Master’s Student Sevinç ISAYEVA and Assoc. Prof. Zeki AKINCI (PhD) has been awarded a research prize by the Strategic Research Academy & Strategic Researches Academic Publishing.


The PhD thesis titled “A Qualitative Study on Restaurant Formations in Tourism Destinations: The Case of Cappadocia” prepared by Research Assistant Gökhan YILMAZ under the supervision of Prof. Bahattin ÖZDEMİR (PhD), has been awarded the Best Doctoral Thesis Prize at the 8th Graduate Tourism Students Research Congress organized by Anatolia: Journal of Tourism Research and Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University.


The Barlas Küntay Tourism Research Competition 2016 awarded the First Prize to the research titled Türkiye, the Country that Grows as It is Discovered in Health Tourism, Market Analysis and Strategies to Follow.
