Establishment Date: 2015 General Information About the Department: The Recreation Management program is conducted within the Faculty of Tourism, which was established under the University of the Mediterranean. It spans an eight-semester educational period. The aim is to train qualified professionals who are proficient in two foreign languages and have knowledge of recreation, tourism, and business administration. Department Learning Objectives: Offer valid and original academic programs to graduate students with expertise, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills in the field of Recreation Management. Formulate, collect, and publish current information related to the field of Recreation Management. Conduct projects aimed at developing new approaches and techniques in Recreation Management. Execute projects and studies that contribute to the development of Recreation Management in Turkey, at both national and regional levels. Solve problems related to Recreation Management, lead its development, influence public opinion, and raise societal awareness. Contribute to satisfying the need for qualified human resources in the tourism sector of Recreation Management. Career/Employment Opportunities: Students graduating from the program primarily have employment opportunities in middle and upper management positions, which involve carrying out recreational activities within recreational businesses and other tourism businesses, thanks to the education they have received. Furthermore, graduates who score sufficiently on the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) may also be eligible for employment in public institutions. Those wishing to pursue an academic career can work as teaching staff in a university program related to their field, provided they meet the necessary conditions, such as achieving the required scores on centralized exams like ALES, YDS, TOEFL, and having industry experience. Graduates can also become teachers if they complete their pedagogical formation. Transition to Higher Degree Programs: Graduates who wish to pursue an academic career and meet the necessary conditions (such as achieving the required scores on centralized exams like ALES, YDS, TOEFL, and having industry experience) can pursue a master's or doctoral degree in a university program related to recreation and tourism.
